Founded in June 2016 following the Liberal Democrats successes at council level, Liberal Democrat Expand aims for a message for every voter, with no ‘no-go areas’ for the party.

We are inspired by the ’50 State Strategy’ of Democratic Governor Howard Dean. We aim to build a ‘650 Seat Strategy’ for the Liberal Democrats. In brief: no local party should be left out of training, every local party should be ambitious for the future of the party, elections should not go uncontested by the Liberal Democrats. Every election should be seen as practice. Where we run, where we work, we can win.

We are looking for Liberal Democrat members to join us for two roles: contributors to our website, and people to join our Exec to help drive and grow the organisation.

Contributors
will write on the blog in line with the aims of Liberal Democrat Expand. Existing entries include contributions from key figures in local parties on what they are doing to ‘expand’; activating members, new ways to run our Local Parties, etc. – to be added to. Contributors should have experience in blogging and writing clearly. This role can be occasional or regular. We are looking for a diverse array of experiences and perspectives and recognise that the Liberal Democrats cannot meaningfully expand with without diverse voices.

Please submit an example piece related to our aims to info@libdemexpand.co.uk, outlining how often you’d hope to contribute.

Join our Exec: we are looking for high-energy, strategic-minded Liberal Democrats to help us grow Liberal Democrat Expand. We are looking to work with people with experience in party membership and development, networking and organising at conference – or tell us what you think you have to add to Liberal Democrat Expand that we have not listed here. Up to 5 hours a week, remotely, Skype in to exec meetings (every other month) or voluntarily, you can attend in London.

Applicants should write to info@libdemexpand.co.uk with a cover letter stating interest and experience.
